Smalltech Solutions was founded in 2009 by by research scientists from the London Centre for Nanotechnology - a £25 million centre of excellence for nanotechnology research jointly owned by University College London and Imperial College London. Since then we have worked with leading academics and multinational companies in the field of plastic electronics. Experienced with technologies such as Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), Thin Film Transistors (TFT), Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFET) and Organic Photovoltaics (OPV), we are continuously innovating to bring the best organic and inorganic semiconductor solutions to market.
---Smalltech Solutions is focused on three key areas
The ability to process electronics from solution brings with it many advantages. In paticular solution processing allows for high throughput manufacturing methods such as roll-to-roll printing to be employed. For this to be realised novel materials with conducting and semiconducting properties are required. In particular organic semiconductors, both small molecule and polymers have been shown to be commercially viable technologies for Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) and Thin Film Transistor (TFT) applications. Inorganic semiconductors are often used in conjunction with organic layers or as standalone technologies in their own right. In particular, metal oxides are a very promising class of material with a wide variety of uses in hi-tech applications. Due to the success of solution processable organic materials we are now experiencing a renewed demand for solution processable metal oxide and inorganic materials.
